Dr. Ansgar Bernardi

Dr. Ansgar Bernardi is deputy head of the Smart Data and Knowledge Services research department at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI GmbH). The research department develops technologies for the effective support of knowledge work, both from an individual perspective and at the company level. Research topics range from document analysis, knowledge representation, and structures for corporate memory to current approaches in sensor data processing, pattern recognition, and machine learning with deep neural networks and generative systems.

In large national and international projects, Dr. Bernardi has been responsible for developing tools for knowledge management in personal and corporate information spaces as well as in public-private partnerships. His work focuses on the development of decision support systems and the application of semantic technologies.

He is currently leading several projects on the digitization of agricultural work processes and cooperative public-private knowledge building. His projects, such as igreen, GeoBox, and AgriGAIA, have made important contributions to data exchange between cooperation partners in agricultural processes and to the establishment of data and knowledge management in resilient networked structures.
